How The Appointment Runs
What actually happens
A full hour, because a gown is never a twenty-minute conversation. We look at the dress on you, work out what it actually needs, and set a schedule that has your final fitting comfortably clear of the date rather than the week before it.
Gown alterations are their own discipline — the constructions are heavier, the fabrics less forgiving, and a great deal of the work is invisible. What looks like taking in a seam is often rebuilding the structure underneath it.
We also make and alter suiting for the groom and groomsmen, so the whole party can be fitted through one workroom and read as one considered picture.
What To Bring
- The shoes you will actually wear, at the actual heel height. Every hem and every proportion below the waist depends on it.
- Any undergarments or foundation pieces the dress is designed to sit over — the fit changes materially without them.
- Anything that will be worn with it on the day: a veil, a jacket, a belt.
Afterwards
We agree a fitting schedule at this appointment and work backwards from your date. Bring the dress with you if you already have it.
