How The Appointment Runs
What actually happens
An hour and three-quarters, garment by garment, sorted into three piles: what stays as it is, what is worth correcting, and what has been taking up space for years.
The useful part is rarely the throwing away. It is finding the pieces that are quietly excellent and badly fitted — a canvassed jacket with generous inlay is worth altering properly and will repay it for years, while a fused jacket cut two sizes wrong is worth letting go of, and no amount of skilled work will change that.
Most people have this exactly backwards, and hold on to the expensive mistake while neglecting the thing that could be made excellent. Most image consulting engagements begin here for that reason.
What To Bring
- What you actually wear, not what you wish you wore. The audit is only as good as the honesty of what is in front of it.
- The pieces you are unsure about — the ones you keep putting back on the rail.
- Call ahead if you are not sure how much to bring; it is a better use of the appointment than guessing.
Afterwards
You leave knowing what each garment is for and what it needs. Anything worth correcting can be booked in, and anything worth commissioning starts as a bespoke appointment.
